She's just not that into you...

This week’s entry from Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop

Signs that your little one is just not that into you anymore…
(She’s 8-months old going on 16)

On weekends she doesn’t nap because we’re so boring we can’t even make a baby tired.

She squeals in joy when she sees a kitty, when she sees us she speeds off in the opposite direction.

She laughs at us but it’s pretty obvious that she’s only mildly amused by our childish noises and ridiculous antics.

She was not born a snuggler; she will never be a snuggler.

Weekends are just as long for us as they are for her.

She acts super cute at church so others will hold her during the service.

She is learning to climb steps and hot wire cars so she can make a fast get-away.

She snorts when she laughs really hard (OK so maybe this has nothing to do with the topic, but isn’t that hilarious?).

P.S. Day 7!

  1. Ya I can totally relate to that. My first was never a snuggler and always quite independent. My youngest is 21 months and still quite clingy (which I totally love actually) and my middle one was more like my first too (not much of a cuddler) She is totally now though so things do turn around! Every child is so different!

  2. This is too funny! I love the line about being more excited over a cat than her parents. HA HA!

  3. I have to say that mine was a snuggler, but now she has too many thing to do. Plus she'd rather be playing with her brothers then hanging out with us. Did I mention she is full on diva at 20 mo? You are not alone.

  4. You're right...I'm pretty sure she's ready to trade you in. ;)

Either that or she's being a big baby.

  5. I think you're probably right Kat. I'm so uncool. :)

Thanks for the boost of encouragement in your email this week!

  6. LOL I have some kids like that. But after having a clingy one, I'll take independent any day! Great post! Stopping by from Mama Kat's!

  7. Angie
Loved this post. I am one of your sistahs from the SITS girl tribes.

I can absolutely relate to the first one. I find that to be true about my 22 month old. ;-)

    Blessings to you!
